Anyone have the feeling that there are less and less competant people to roleplay with on DA?

I mean I used to be able to get involved in loads, especially short term but fairly exciting stories which were at least fun to do. Fo rthe most part it's just not fun anymore!

It annoys me that people don't seem to have enough attention span to craft a real story anymore. To actually create a more living breathing world to pass a story through, or even better to pass a load of different stories through. With well made and different characters with unique personality's and quirks that make them fun to use and fun for other people rp alongside.

I dunno it might be just me but since when did people lose all their creativity and consign themselves to mediocrity? to rehashing other peoples stories from Film, TV etc.
I love to make influences through my favourite music forms and my favourite films etc. but I hate it when people simply rip off ideas, I hate when people are samey with their characters. It now just seems to be 'cliched' vampire' or 'cliched' wolf/were' or worst of all 'cliched' anime character'. not that playing these kind of things is always bad..but damn it make them interesting and different at least!

...And with people who are so protective of their characters they make them almost godlike. this is just stupid...it's always far more fun to play a character that hurts, feels, scars in detail and along with a story. Not simply I assign this history here and these powers her that make me stronger than everyone else. It's much much much more fun to make enemies godlike. the harder and more interesting to take them down, the better, again even the enemies being interesting and detailed characters of their own. Even for a single RP.

Firstly to my love who's helped create a fantastic world of War, Demons and Cults,Pirates on Sky and Sea, Demonhunters, tropical islands to frozen wastes and cities set atop glacial cliffs. With a cast of the mad, the bad, cowardly, grumpy, giggly and just plain eccentric. Set atop the steampunk airship 'REDTAIL' and the elderly and battle scarred heavy tank 'ARMOURED SUN'.
We've been doing it for months and it's still interesting ^^.

The same is true as well for , who has helped make a brilliantly dark 1930's world with werewolves, set among the sinister scientific/religious halls of the order. Hunted by everyone througb Prague, eastern europe and Siberia (so far). Gun fights with vampiric gangsters and hell for leather 10 tonne truck chases through the icy siberian wastes whilst being driven by a dragon in a dressing gown. All this has just added to how interesting this Rp has gotten ^^.
